Zenzap, an Israeli startup developing a business communications platform with built-in AI agents, has emerged from stealth with about $44 million in funding. According to Calcalist, its $33 million Series A was co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from The Garage. The company previously raised $11 million in a seed round.
The product
Zenzap connects a team's chat to the organization's business apps, and lets AI agents carry out tasks directly from the conversation: updating systems, scheduling, sending documents and triggering workflows. According to the company, customers have already created more than 40,000 automated workflows on the platform.
The audience Slack missed
Rather than competing head-on with Slack and Microsoft Teams for tech companies, Zenzap targets businesses those tools don't really serve: clinics, real estate firms, logistics companies and residences. These are businesses whose employees work mainly from their phones, and where simple automation can save a lot of time.
Who is behind it
Zenzap was founded in 2022 by Guy Weiss, Jonatan Bien and Noam Neumann. It has about 45 employees in Tel Aviv, the US and Europe, and will use the money to expand development and sales teams and to grow internationally. As always with AI agents, the efficiency figures come from the company itself and have not been independently verified.
