US private equity firm GrowthCurve Capital is buying control of TailorMed, a digital health company founded in Israel. Terms were not disclosed, but Calcalist reports the deal values the company at about $250 million. Most existing investors are expected to sell, according to reports.
TailorMed's platform helps patients, hospitals and pharmacies deal with the cost of expensive treatment in the US: it finds assistance foundations, drugmaker programs and other funding and connects them to the patient. In a system where many patients pay a large share out of pocket, cost leads many to skip care.
The company has raised about $60 million and employs about 120 people, about 50 of them at its Israeli R&D center, who will stay on. Headquarters are in New York.
According to reports, GrowthCurve plans to invest in new services and AI capabilities and use TailorMed as a base for further acquisitions, building a network linking patients, hospitals, pharmacies and drugmakers.
