Check Point, Israel's oldest and largest cybersecurity company, will publish third-quarter results tomorrow (Monday) before the Wall Street open. The investor video call starts at 8:30 a.m. New York time, 3:30 p.m. in Israel.
What to expect
According to MarketBeat, analyst consensus is for earnings of about $2.48 per share and revenue of about $672 million, nearly flat from a year earlier. The company itself guided to earnings of $2.43 to $2.53 per share and revenue of $655 million to $685 million. Last quarter Check Point beat forecasts with earnings of $2.55 per share and revenue of $673.6 million, and it has beaten earnings estimates in 7 of its last 8 quarters.
The big question: growth
Check Point's challenge is not profitability but growth. While young cybersecurity companies such as Wiz, Cyera and Upwind grow by tens and hundreds of percent, Check Point's revenue is nearly flat. Investors will look for signs that the acquisitions it made this year, including four Israeli companies, are starting to contribute to growth, especially in AI security.
Why it matters
Check Point is one of Israel's largest public companies and employs thousands of people in the country. Its results, along with Mobileye's, serve as a gauge of the health of mature Israeli tech companies at a time when most attention goes to startups. We will update tomorrow when the results are out.
